| | | Re: Sorry more help needed Morning Dai,
The first is certainly Chrysopilus species ( wing veins A1 and CuA join then run to the margin together). I don't know the specific factor that makes it cristatus, but it probably is...
Next-up is I think is a Parhelophilus sp.
Not sure - the thorasic pattern looks a little different. In G. viridis it's green ( more Greenbottle-like), and is in the Tachinidae family. Here I can't decide if it's Calliphoridae or Muscidae from the venation - which seems to match the latter...
The last is as you say - Sarcophagidae. These are generally bristle-placement ( ?), male-genitalis jobbies though there are some more recogniseable in this family of 50 UK species.
Take care, Jason

| | | Re: Sorry more help needed Chrysopilus cristatus looks good to me, none of the other 3 Chrysopilus sp. we have match. Diptera.info - Photo Albums: Chrysopilus cristatus (female) (1)
#2 is either Parhelophilus frutetorum or P. versicolor, without seeing the shape of the face and colour of the hairs on the occiput (behind the eyes) that's all I can say.
#3 is Calliphoridae, and I think Protocalliphora azurea, the only species in the genus here. Not a nice blowfly. Protocalliphora - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
#4 If it's really big, it's probably Sarcophaga carnaria, if it has a red tail end it likely to be S. africa which is still big but not usually as big. S. carnaria can vary greatly in size but one I have this year must be the maximum at around 19mm. No-one will give a definite ID on these though as there's a lot of them, however those two do stand out and are fairly common.
