Please can you identify this beetle (1 cm in length). Particularly attractive are the orange hairs and intersgment membranes |

It's a female Lucanus cervus, stag beetle. How is it being aggressive? |

Thanks for such a thorough identification - I got my units wrong - it was about 1 inch not cm. It attached itself to my toe while doing some clipping in a woodland area of the garden and was relunctant to let go!! |
