| | | Damselfly ID please I more or less assume that all my damselflies are common blues....
But, this one seemed a little different, it flew differently and looked almost white
Is it just another variation?

This looks like a White-legged Damselfly. |

White-legged Damselflies do tend to have a slightly 'bouncier' flight than other similar species (which can sometimes help you pick them out once you get to know it). If this one was very recently emerged the flight may have looked different because of this though, rather than because it is a different species. |

| | | Re: Damselfly ID please Thanks very much both
Lovely to see a different one, its flight was very exact and purposeful, almost like it was patrolling a little area and it kept coming back to land on the same leaf...I so wished I had my macro lens on. But, I spent a happy half an hour watching it anyway.
