| | | Aphids (and parasitic wasp) for ID Can anyone suggest an ID for these aphids?
These ones were on a flower stalk of Cornus alba 'Elegantissima' bush, being farmed by ants:
Crop:
And these ones were on Salix Caprea. The aphid being parasitised and the wasp are both approx 1.3mm. If anyone has an idea on the wasp as well, that would be great.
Thanks

| | | Re: Aphids (and parasitic wasp) for ID It's hard to ID aphids from wingless forms - winged adults are better if the photo shows the cornicles and any pattern on the abdomen. Anyway, I've no idea with the second one. Re the first, there is a species of Anoecia that lives on Cornus species but I don't know what a wingless one looks like. It should have small ring cornicles but I can't tell from the photo whether yours have any |

| | | Re: Aphids (and parasitic wasp) for ID Thanks for the info. The aphids on the Salix all seem to have gone now, but the ones on the dogwood are still there so I tried to get a photo of a winged one:
The cornicles are just pores on the unwinged ones, and I presume also on the winged adults.
Cheers
