It's a beetle from the Chrysomelidae family. I'm wondering if it's a Flea Beetle from the swollen-ish hind femora, but will stand-aside for someone better experienced.

I have to say that I would disagree with the beetle being Plagiodera as the elytra is rather to long for that particular genera and species.
I would more inclined toward the beetle being of the Phyllotreta genus of which there are around 15 species in the UK.
