Parasitic Wasp?


It looks a bit like one of the Ichneumonidae

HAHA - It has taken a lot of browsing and some look similar but without the abdomen markings.

Morning WL,

Yes, an Ichneumon Wasp, Ichneumonidae. The first stage in getting to sub-family level includes a look at wing venation which few images show due their resting posture.

Unlikely an identification I'm afraid, I've all but given up trying with an actual specimen!

Thanks for helping and confirming the family.



It was a fast mover and hard to keep in focus.

I felt it was kinder to help it back outdoors.
