This got sucked into the car, the other day, I suppose it's some kind of dragonfly.

Reason: Removal of external images

Indeed. It's either a Migrant or Southern Hawker... I can't differenciate them personally! What part of this green and pleasant land was this taken in?
Take care, Jason |

I cases like this it would probably be best to close the thread as well.

| | | Re: Dragonfly? Gort,
See here for help in uploading to our own Image Archive http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...otos-info.html ( the rule is there to prevent images being deleted externally, which leads to images not being available to visitors later on...)
Add them to the Archive, and one of out more experienced members will be able to have a look and identify it for you. I think NN's right though - as I said, I don't really do Dragons!

| | | Re: Dragonfly? It does seem rather early for a Migrant Hawker which is the last of our Odonata to emerge. There haven't been any postings of this species yet on the British Dragonfly Society hotnews web page.
Without the photo difficult to say what it was. |

I'm sorry but I've had to remove the images as we only allow images from our Image Library or Gallery to be used in forum posts. This is to prevent problems with little red crosses appearing when the external image or the web site hosting it disappears.
But I can confirm that it is indeed a dragonfly, a Souther Hawker ( Aeshna cyanea) to be precise. Not normally found in cars!
Dave P.
P.s. I've been trying to post this since removing the images but lost access to the WAB site.
