Can anyone help - I am pretty good on insects but ! I have just seen what appears to be a very short Dragonfly - definitely dragonfly wings but with just the upper part of the body with no long tail - this was striped yellow and Black - Flew beautifully and very fast therefore I doubt that it is malformed or has lost it's rear end due to injury it was not a humming bird Hawk moth and was very aggresive looking ! |

How about a female /teneral Broad-bodied Chaser?This dragonfly species appears quite stubby.
