| | | Any ideas what it could be?? Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this fantastic website - I found it while trying to identify a flying beetle?? this morning.
I was having breakfast outside and noticed several (30 ish) of what I thought was either midges or fruit flies. However, when a couple landed on me I noticed that they are actually more like beetles, with a hard outer shell and wings that tuck up underneath. They are very small, approx 3-4mm long and 2-3mm wide.
Does anyone have an idea of what they may be?
Thank you in anticipation. |

From the description a Beetle species is possible, what colours were involved - could you upload a photograph or colour drawing? That should help.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Any ideas what it could be?? Thanks Jason, I think they are pollen beetles! Our garden backs onto a field which was full of rape. The beetles are all over the flowers on my peony bush. Many thanks for your help.
