| | | East Blean Wood Dragonflies Today I spent an hour in East Blean Woods photographing the Heath Fritillaries. I also managed to photograph a damselfly. As there has already been some discussion about dragonflies at East Blean Woods on a Heath Fritillary thread: Blean woods heath fritillaries
I decided to start a separate thread about East Blean’s Dragonflies as there seems to be some some interest in them.
Roly and Richard, I have taken the liberty of quoting here what you said on the fritillary post about the dragonflies to get all the dragonfly information together here in its own thread. Quote:

Cheers, | So this is what i came up with today. I am afraid I only managed a distant shot, and not well-focused. Would be grateful for confirmation of what it was:

| | | Re: East Blean Wood Dragonflies The Emperor really lives up to its name doesn't it. So large and imposing; made the Common Darters in the same glade look very humble by comparison!

I,ve only just seen the thread on EB Dragons, nice one.I,ve not been there for a week or so,been chasing a Keeled Skimmer which turned out successful, see "dragon thread",but missed a "Downy",it just wouldn,t keep still,so you realise I wasn,t in Kent.Yes I agree with the I.d,s of your piccy,s.I will be making a visit during this week to E.B and let you know how I get on.
