National Dragonfly Atlas.

There have been a number of recent threads featuring dragonfly & damselfly species that are spreading into northern parts of Britain, and other species that are increasing their range (eg. Scarce Chaser).

The British Dragonfly Society is currently half way through an atlas project to map the current distribution of dragon & damsel species in Britain, so any records may be useful.
These can now be submitted online at Record Entry , or by sending details to your county dragonfly recorder (list available as a word document here: British Dragonfly Society ).
The local recorder may wish to contact you to confirm unusual records (photographs are always useful for this!).

All records are potentially useful - particularly so if they are on the edges of the ranges that are currently mapped for the species concerned!

The survey will continue until the end of the 2012 flight season - I may post a reminder in future years, but if anyone feels like bumping this thread up as a reminder during this summer season please feel free to do so
