Demoiselle damselfly

I was working in Coniston yesterday and watched a pair of what I can only identify as Demoiselle damselflies. (camera, I wish) The colour of these 2 delightful damselflies was the strogest dark electric blue imaginable. Never seen these arround Cumbria before

I've just checked the distribution map, from my book, and while you are on the edge of the range there is an isolated dot on the Cumbria general area.

Hi Susie, They are so vibrant yet delicate. I hope they are on the increase here in the Lakes.

Thanks for the info Geoff, this may be another example of climate change creating change in creature distribution.
