| | | 24-spot ladybird larvae? Hi, am I right in thinking (after much searching!) that this is the 24-spot ladybird larva?
I hope it is as I can't bear the thought of trawling through any more images of larvae |

| | | Re: 24-spot ladybird larvae? That's where I finally found an image that matched mine Jason! The kids at school will be chuffed, there's dozens of them in their nature garden and it's nice for them to see what it will become! |

A fresh blade of grass each morning then the kids can watch them change to pupa to adult.

| | | Re: 24-spot ladybird larvae? Worth mentioning that this is the most abundant of the British vegetarian ladybirds. As mentioned by Ashe, they eat some grasses and herbs in contrast to most ladybirds which are 'carnivorous'! They're especially abundant in semi-natural grassland in SE England but quite rare in the rest of the country. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
