| | | How close is too close? (wasps) I had my suspicions there was a wasp nest nearby to the garden. I cut the grass recently (was very overgrown) wasps were hanging around an area and have now pretty much confirmed I have a nest in the ground. There was a BIG wasp recently boring holes in my rotting log (presumably a queen).
Anyways...... this nest is about4-5ft away from the washing line in regular use, nowhere else for it to go, Too close for comfort?
To be honest I hate wasps, and would rather they weren't there at all. Anyone want some wasps, free to a good home lol pick up only ! |

You may wish to contact your local pest control to have it dealt with or you could do away with it yourself, there is a product available from local hardware stores, a powder you puff on to the nest entrance first thing in the morning before they start flying, the wasps will carry it into their nest on their feet and it will destroy the nest overnight.
Always difficult to decide to keep or kill but if you have young children or pets, especially dogs i would say destroy it, is the best choice.

Luckily I have neither dog or small children but I have other small mammals that like to dig, and if a ferret sticks his nose down the hole he'll be in for a shock! lol | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
