Bumblebee Nest?

I noticed quite a number of bumblebees getting stuck between the sashes of the living room windows recently and now on further investigation there are loads of them to-ing and fro-ing from a certain point in the eaves just under the gutter.

What variety of bumblebee might nest this high up (1st floor) and is it likely they're in my loft or do they normally just nest in holes?

I may go up and have a look, my mother told me when I was very young that bumblebees don't sting and consequently I'm not scared of them. Wasps - now that's another matter!

Any chance of seeing a pic of these bumbles??

I'll see what I can do but difficult to get a good photo because they will be silhouetted against the sky. Any way I can get tempt one inside? Would have to lock the cats up first.

Tried to get a photo but they don't stay still for long and my windows need a clean. The next is in the void next to the sash and not in the attic.

Will try again next week when the windows have been cleaned.
