| | | Re: Unidentified Blue Bug I would suggest the Weevil Phyllobius pomaceus which can be a bit variable in colouration and the shiny scales tend to ware off with age.
But there are other similar versions so I am a bit reluctant to say this is definitely the correct ID. |

| | | Re: Unidentified Blue Bug Evening Nick,
This I should think is potentially something like Phyllobius pyri, or close ( toothed femora, elongate metallic scales, possible ridged tibia. The base colour to the legs is black, so if the tibiae are round it could be P. pomaceus still). Still, without a microscope to get a better tibia perspective ( any other photos? If so please upload) then it's only probable - not certain.
Take care, Jason

I have just uploaded a photo and added to my previous post.
Does that help? |

| | | Re: Unidentified Blue Bug Thanks. Yes, they still have a ridged-look to them so would consider the image being labelled Phyllobius cf. pyri.
(CF is Latin and generally means 'Consider', here as in Phyllobius, consider it being pyri) |
