ladybirds: inter-species mating


2 spot ladybird apparently mating with a much spottier ladybird, just wondering if this sort of interbreeding is common?

Hi Eekoh.

These are both Harlequin Ladybirds.This is a very variable species .

Ah same species makes more sense, hadn't realised the harlequins were quite so variable as that.

I wonder what variation this coupling will come up with (you know, one form being more genetically domineering than the other...)?
