Couple of flies for ID
I spotted these two on an unidentified plant, which turned out to be Fringecups, in an Exmoor river valley, early May. They were still there when I returned a couple of hours later.



St. Marks fly ? - can't call this one good looking



Crane fly - quite attractive for a crane fly

Anyone do any better for ID's

Evening Martin,

The first is the female (small eyes) of Bibio marci - one of two true St. Mark's Fly. I can't help with the second.
