Unknown Picture-wing fly or fruit fly

Found at Dinnington Marsh 6th June 2010 on a short wildlife foray with Les.

Urophora cardui - one that's moving north (and hopefully should reveal itself in my area also this year).

Super picture John.

Would love to see one myself, all I find are the galls! First noted in Yorkshire between Fishlake and Sykehouse in 2006. We're getting more and more sites in S Derbys and Notts.

Don't forget to tell Laurence Clemons, this is very much at the edge of its range.

Got one today, Manvers, nr Bolton 0n Dearne. A wasteground site.
