The second is a bumblebee mimic- the hoverfly Volucella bombylans. I saw 2 of those today.

I would guess #1 is a male Buff Tailed Bumble Bee (Bombus terrrestris), bit hard to tell from this angle.

I would suggest the bee is Bombus hortorum and the hoverfly is Merodon equestris

I agree, the second image is of the syrphid Bulb Fly, Merodon equestris, form equestris.
