| | | Small white flying insect in my garden, what is it? Both yesterday and today while sitting in my garden in SW London I've noticed this small insect flying about and have no idea what it is. I haven't been able to get a photo yet and didn't see it very well, so don't know if anyone will be able to help. I'll just tell you what I saw.
Firstly, the colour is very distinctive: very white but almost with some blue iridescence on the edges. It is very small - maybe a bit smaller than a ladybird. When it was flying it sort of bounced around, I don't know if that makes sense. But I was sitting under a tree and at first I thought something was dangling from the tree - but then realised it was actually flying. It appeared as if it was totally round - like a small paint ball! I couldn't really see any wings (I just assume there were some as it was about 4 feet off the ground). I've tried searching online for something similar and haven't been able to find anything. Any thoughts? I'll take a camera with me next time to see if I can get a shot of it.
Thanks! |

Can you upload a simple colour drawing of it? I can't quite ' guage' what type of insect this was.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Small white flying insect in my garden, what is it? Jason, Not sure a drawing will help much. it really just looked round. When I realised it was an insect it sort of felt like it was a beetle, clumsy and heavy in the air.
I'm off to the garden with a camera - I'll see what I can get.
Thanks,
Kate |

Quite large for an Aphid, it is an Aphid isn't it?
