Help with ID for this insect/fly
A friend of mine took a picture of this insect and asked me to ID it but i wasn't sure.

Help would be greatly appreciated

It's a Sawfly (related to wasps), possibly Cimbicidae.

Looks like the birch sawfly (Cimbex femoratus).
