Can't help with the ID, but these look very like Crane Flies I tried (unsucessfully) to photograph recently, and I'm also very interesting in knowing what they are.
The bi-coloured spot on each wing caught my attention as well as the orangey/amber colour - but perhaps there are several species with these features?

Thanks Roy.

Unfortunately it did a runner before I could get a clearer shot of the abdomen and wings. It probably objected to twin flash guns going off in its face .
