| | | Re: Magnifying glasses Look for something with a 10Xmagnification by 20mm diam.glass is generally better around £15-20 Field Lenses, Hand Lenses, Loupes, Hand Lens for viewing fossils and specimens.

| | | Re: Magnifying glasses The Ruper double-lens loupes are probably the best - sturdy (don't waste money on a plastic mounted one) and good optically. Mine is the 8x and 15x version which I find adequate for plants and beetles - depends really on what you're looking at: the higher the magnification the smaller the field of view so a 15x or 20x is rather wasted on something like a butterfly ....
My Ruper didn't cost anything like as much as the price given in the url so it may be worth searching around.
