| | | One Hover and one Wasp for ID please I think this is some kind of Wasp but don't know which one. Any help please.
First time I have seen one of these and can't find an ID for it.

| | | Re: One Hover and one Wasp for ID please The wasp is a male Crabro (either C. cribrarius or C.peltarius). I haven't got my keys handy so I am not prepared to try a species level determination here. The broad plate on the front Tibia is characteristic of the genus |

The fly is a Tachinid, not a hoverfly, so a different recording scheme - http://tachinidae.org.uk. We don't have an upload facility for our Gallery at present, so I load all the stuff by hand onto the database. I've got the details for the record off the Hoverfly site, saves Roger or Stuart passing it on to me.
