Andrena ID

I have been trawling through previous posts, and have found reference to the fact that only a handful of male andrena bees have a white or yellow clypeus.

Can someone list the species that have this feature?? I have two (different) species to ID - thought I would start with narrowing it down somewhat!

Oh, while I'm at it, can someone point me in the direction of how I go about identifying Lasioglossum down to the sub-genera?

off the top of my head chrysosceles is the only one I can remember, but there are certainly one or two more. Chrysosceles also has orange tibiae and tarsi.

Yay that must be him! Pale yellow clypeus, a male, and orange tarsi!

Another one for you - or anyone -

I have a male Andrena with a furry clypeus. It is orangey fur. Thorax is also orangey, abdomen mostly black and largely hairless with orangey fur at the end. So far I am thinking haemorrhoa. Is furry face a distinctive feature?

UK Andrena species with males that have yellow or white marks on the clypeus:

A.labiata
A.marginata
A.tarsata
A.coitiana
A.hattorfiana
A.chrysoceles
A.labialis
A.humilis.

Any particular reason why you need to get to sub-genera for Lasioglossum, none of the keys I use go down this route.

Thank you for the list -
I am trying to make my way through the Perkins 1922 key but finding it a bit gruelling, but it is the only key I have.

I thought that getting it down to sub-genus would narrow my search a bit.

Any suggestions?

From this little lot you can rule out:
A. labiata (always has red on abdomen)
A. marginata (flies in late July and August)
A. tarsata (ditto)
A. hattorfiana (a large summer flying species)
A. labialis (Much more extensively marked on the face)
