Hi All,
I photographed these two Ladybirds over the weekend and after talking to a friend about it they told me that they shouldn't be doing what they are.
Can anybody tell me if it is common or uncommon for two species of Ladybird to mate and what would the offspring be, if any?

As Jason said, they are Harlequin Ladybirds, therefore both the same (rather variable) species. |

My mistake seems to have been mistaking the black Lady for a Pine Ladybird
