Adonis Blue?

I saw this Blue butterfly today and thought it was a Common Blue.

Now I've looked at it I think it might possibly be an Adonis Blue - or have I had too much sun

It was on a patch of wildflowers on the edge of heathland in Surrey - there were a number of Brown Argus and a Small Copper too.

It was very blue, unfortunately I couldn't get a shot of it with it's wings open and these two arn't the best.

Male Common Blue for me- your photo doesn't show the chequered fringe of Adonis Blue. I did see plenty of the latter in Surrey at the weekend, with 20+ at Denbies, Ranmore Common. Also Common + Holly Blues there.

Thank you Aeshna - Now you've mentioned the chequered fringe I've re-looked and can see what you mean.

I think all those spots were getting to me!!

I shall have to add Ranmore common to my list of places to visit
