| | | Is this a robber fly? Hi - hope someone can help. This not so wee beauty was captured in my kitchen (AND released post photograph). I would really appreciate help in identifying it. Its markings are very distinctive, as is its 'tail'. The fly is c. 2 inches long.

Thanks for your reply. Looks bang on from some of the photos in google. We had 2 of them - beautiful creatures. I have just had a ton of wood bark delivered so possibly residing in that otherwise stuck to figure out how they got into the house.
