| | | Hoverfly for ID please This doesn't seem to match anything in Complete British Insects. I suspect it's a new one for me...
Any thoughts?

It's Myathropa florea I believe - one of my favourites.

Many thanks!

| | | Re: Hoverfly for ID please Hello Dave
It is a female - the eyes are separated.
Can we have the data for the recording scheme please? Date, locality, recorder name and if poss a grid ref or a postcode.
Can send via PM if that helps - just remind me that it is the Myathropa florea records.
Regards

No problem...
Date: 23/05/2010
Locality: Belvedere, north west Kent
Recorder: (I assume that's me!) Dave Pressland
Grid Ref: TQ4962178538 (Lat/long: 51.486008, 0.153530)
I think I saw another one at Camley Street yesterday. I'll check the photos tonight and if it is I'll post it here along with the data.

Locality: Camley Street Natural Park, King's Cross, London

Do you want all records of hoverflies or just certain species? I'd be happy to email through anything you need.
