Spotted this black-with-orange-legs fellow on a bramble at Whitecliff, IoW this evening - is it an ichneumon fly?
It seemed to be adopting an egg-laying posture and I wonder if that (possibly rolled) leaf is concealing a caterpillar that it parasitises.. 
Looks like the antennae are tuning in to something under the leaf.

yes but they are wasps not flies. |

It is most likely a species of Pimpla such as hypochondriaca. This generally lays its eggs in lepidoptera larvae. | | |
