| | | Cockchafer After reading cowgirls post I though I would show you a couple of images I took yesterday. It was in my crab apple tree. Took it down for a few shots then put him back in the tree.

When I was child they would come into my room (and bed) if I kept the light on in June. As a 5 year old I found them a bit scary.
The adults feed on Oak leaves and the lavae eat roots.
I believe that these are much less common now than they used to be. |
