I believe this is Cryptocephalus hypochaeridis.

could also be C. aureolus. Separating the two from photos is very difficult.

Thanks for your reply. One of the reasons for going with this one is its attraction to yellow flowers (according to Chinery). Unfortunately there is no description for C. aureolus.
