| | | Lygaeidae Cymus claviculus? Hi
I have narrowed this down to Cymus claviculus due to the impunctate band, but as there is 4 species mentioned and I have seen only 3 of them I thought it was a good idea to get confirmation, or otherwise.
Taken on 16th (now yesterday), habitat correct as it's dry and sandy. Size around 3.5mm.

My garden resembles dry meadows where there is grass.
There is a roadside drain as part of my garden nearby, and I have rough 'lawn' grass with what looks like Luzula campestris.
Thanks for your input Lawrence, now I have a better idea of what it lives on.

| | | Re: Lygaeidae Cymus claviculus? Looks like claviculus to me, the impunctate band on the corium is clear and other features consistent. I normally find this bug in drier areas than C. melanocephalus and C. glandicolor and never in numbers so a good find. |

| | | Re: Lygaeidae Cymus claviculus? Thanks for the confirmation Tristan. It certainly is dry just now!
Once more my magic wall has come up with the goods.
