Last weekend nothing.
Today a large red, a blue tailed and a banded demoiselle.

I also saw my first of the year today. 3 Large Red. One of my regular sites usually has Banded Demoiselles by this time. Last year I saw plenty on May 1st. This year nothing so far. |

Frank, without consulting my book, I would say you have a male and female there. The male has red stripes on it's abdomen while the female has yellow.
But there are several recognised colour variations with this species.
Also saw my first Large Reds last week. |

I saw my first damselfly yesterday, a Large Red I think.
Bit of a double whammy as I saw it in my back garden around the pond I only finished last week!
