wasp or fly?
Hi
saw this briefly and i was wondering if it was a fly or a wasp? sorry for the slightly out focus pic but i couldn't get a better shot before it flew off

As Nick says, it's a Hoverfly but there isn't really enough to go on - sorry!

It's a female Melanostoma cf. scalare, that is I think it is as opposed to M. mellinum as there looks to be white dust triangles visible between the eyes. The spots on the abdomen can be seen, more so if you enlarge the pic again.
