Hoverfly id please
How close we can get to an id on this i dont know.Sorry no photo of the legs.The dark clouded patch on the wings was noticable.Any ideas

Possibly Pipiza noctiluca. The dark wing markings are more important than the spots on the abdomen in determining most Pipiza species.

Best not to put a name - just simply genus Pipiza - cannot generally be done from photos except on rare occasions.
