| | Help - Reoccurring Queen Wasps I there, I hope someone can help me. Over the last few months I have had several (5) - what I think to be - Queen Wasps in my house. I can not understand where they are coming from. I am beginning to think that at the end of the winter they have made there way in doors, and are only just waking up.
I do not want to kill them, and so far have been lucky to catch most of them safely and re-homed them out side, however my flat m8 was not so gentle and killed 2 of them. On the other hand, for that reason I know they can’t all be the same one.
I was wondering if anyone can help me answer a few questions; Are Queens loners or do they group together over the winter? Is there a common place where they will hide? Are they aggressive or slightly more placid then the average wasp you see out side? Do they have a stinger? And do they carry eggs?
What should I be looking to do, as I thought I heard another one last night? Is this situation unusual?
Any help or directions would be much appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Jo |
