any Dragonflies at Thursley yet?

Just wondering if its worth a trip this early in the season, assuming brighter weather. Plenty last week of May 2009 but have never been earlier.

I was there at the latter part of last week and saw the grand total of 2 Large Red Damselflies - 5 or 6 Hobbys though, very active

thanks, sounds like give it another week as its a bit of a trek for me.

still wondering if its worth a trip to Thursley - last year there were loads of DFs around May 20 but I went to Esher Common today and only saw 2 Large Red damsels (got 3 on my little pond at home now). I suspect its going to be too early this weekend at Thursley?

It is site that I'd like to visit too,but not much has been reported on the British Dragonfly Society's Hot news either,lets hope that somebody local can give us a better idea.

I saw quite a few Broad Bodied Chasers at Fleet today, didnt see any other types though

I was there on Friday, saw Large Reds, Common Blues and quite a few 4-spot Chasers. Also a probable Downy Emerald at the Moat Pond. Got a good show from the Hobbies too.

that sounds better, got Fri off so will pay a visit weather permitting. I hope to photograph some emerging early morning.

I stopped yesterday for 15 minutes as I happened to be passing by - I didn't see much more that you. I saw what might be a Downy Emerald at the Moat too
