Which Tipula

Hello

Found this pair thought at first they were Tipula maxima but looking on the internet they could be Tipula excisa. Found in woodland next to a stream.

Crane flies tend to be a bit of a specialist subject and those photos aren't very clear; but you could have a look at this site which may prove useful Flies page 1

Paul,
as Geoff says, craneflies can be very difficult to positively identify from images. There are a lot of species and many need microscopic examination to sort them out.
But, yes, it looks like a Tipula and I think it might be Tipula luna.
