There were swarms of these bees about. I always have difficulty in recognising the difference between bees and wasps  . I looked in the wrong section of my reference book  . Having said that, none of the reference images of the Cuckoo Bee looks anything like this one.

Second is a male, also Nomada flava although they are supposed to be inseparable from N. panzeri. The markings on confirmed pics seem to be a little different though and yours match N. flava well. Google Translate

Janet  | Nomada flava and N.panzeri are indeed inseparable, either from a specimen or from a photo. The best that can be said from this pic is N. flava/panzeri, it is impossible to make a full ID. |

I agree, in a lot of cases, photographs are very difficult to identify any species. In this case I shall stick with Nomada sp.
