| | | Drone flies in flight Photographed these today in the garden. All taken with a 600mm lens and manually focused. There's literally just a split second to capture the images as they are forever darting off to intercept other flying insects that come into their airspace.

| | | Re: Drone flies in flight Cheers Jason. Yes, they are pretty tough to get. I guess I get to keep around 1 in 10 photos. Not only do they dart all over the place, they also drift in and out of focus on the wind. All my shots are from around 5m (15 feet) range. They are quite small in the photo but modern dslr cameras allow for a lot of cropping.

Another photo from some I took this week.

| | | Re: Drone flies in flight The lens is a 600mm Skywatcher Pro 80ED telescope mounted as a prime lens to a Canon 450D. I got the scope new for around £230 but Skywatcher have brought out a new version which is around double that price but it basically has the same glass. The glass in the 80ED is well know for it's image quality. The older version can be found on ebay from time to time or there is a German astronomy website selling them for around £330. I use it mainly for bird photography but it works well for anything. It's certainly a hell of a lot cheaper than a £6000 Canon lens and image quality isn't a lot different.
