Help to identify two weevils

Hi,

This little fella had taken an uplanned swim in the birdbath so after fishing him out I though I would take the opportunity to take a couple of photos while he cleaned up.

Approximately 5mm in size, I was thinking Pea Weevil?





The second on announced his presence by crawling up my arm while I was lying on the lawn looking for wee beasties (always handy when they find you instead).

A bit bigger that the other one nearer 1cm and quite rotund, I am stuck with an ID for this one!





In case you are wondering they are standing on a plate which was acting as a temporary 'studio'. All duly returned to the wild after a little while.

Hi!

I think the first weevil is a Sitona sp. There are around 20 species in the UK. The second I believe is an Otiorhynchus species. There are 21 species in the UK. Sorry I cannot give a more comprehensive identifictation but one really needs a specimen under a microscope. I hope this helps.
