| | | Dock bugs? Saw a number of these today on Laurel. They looked very like Dock bugs but are smaller and very narrow. Could they be Box bugs? THere is box in the area, but all were on the Laurel. |

| | | Re: Dock bugs? They are indeed Boxbugs- formerly a great rarity. They will use quite a range of plants including various rosaceous shrubs such as Hawthorn, Pyracantha, etc. |

Yes, the Box Bug Gonocerus acuteangulatus which was formally RDB1 I believe. I seem to go by the golden wing membrane and extended body to seperate this one from other Coreidae members.
Nice to see them doing well - a nice insect. It also uses Yew too, as it was when I found it first in Autumn 2007.
