Crane Flies requiring an expert opinion please

Both seen near the S. Devon Coast Path. First one on 13/04/10; second seen today.



When I saw the first one, I immediately thought of an early Tipula oleracea but the wings appear very long and there are darker markings on the abdomen sides. The antennae also seem a bit long. My second thought was T. vittata; but I remember a similar question being asked last year, and that turned out to be something else. But I can't remember what!

My first thoughts on the second fly, with a 'bottle' shaped abdomen, were Ctenophora sp. But I am probably way of the target.

So can anybody point me in the correct direction?
