anyone seen a damselfly yet?

the earliest records are normally around mid April and usually the Large Red but maybe they will be much later this year after the hard winter?
Seem to be a lot more Bee flies around.

Saw my first Large Red Damselfy on the New Forest yesterday.

I haven't seen any yet, but the BDS website shows quite a few records of Large Reds (mainly tenerals) over the last few days.

April 22nd 2009 and May 2nd 2008 for previous years first spots.

Update- just spotted my first one in the garden 5 mins ago- no photo but was fairly dull coloured so assume it had only just emerged but was fully flying.

Saw a large red on monday 19th at work in woodland with no pond near by.makes work life easier nature spotting

Yes,I,ve seen and taken photos of the L.R.D at a site in East Kent,also found were Exuviae which has confirmed a breeding site. I,m told this is the first for this area.
