| | | Solitary bees: can anyone ID this please? These were is quite a large group (perhaps 30 or 40) but each had its own little hole. They were in a sandy bank in the New Forest.
I believe the ones that hold their wings splayed out like a fly are leaf cutter bees, but I might be wrong about that. Any help?

It certainly looks like the one illustrated on Gardensafari - Insects and Animals In House And Garden (with lots of photos and articles) although he says even that photo he can't be 100% sure as other Andrena species are very similar
