It looks very much like the Honey Bee Apis mellifera - as these seem to vary, I checked the venation to be sure and that looks good too - but it looks a little small, so I may be incorrect. Stuart from BWARs is back so he'll confirm/other.

Take care, Jason  | Good evening Jason. Thanks for replying and offering your advice. I thought honey bee too at first but there are others that have the pale banded hairs around the abdomen. Thats why I thought I had better check it out.
Changing the subject a little. I am getting the Metz Ring flash to try and improve on the lighting in these Macro shots. I currently use the Metz 48 with a difuser fitted to reduce the glare. Works better than my cameras' built in flash but it would be even better to get even, non polarised, illumination on the subject.
