| | | Bug, Beetle, and Fly for ID Can anyone help me out with IDs for these:
Approx 6mm long 4mm wide. On a daffodil flower.
Beetle approx 3.5mm long 1.2mm wide. Club shaped antennae (think he was hiding them under his head in this photo). It went in some water (it was on a sink), and then dragged a bit of the water round underneath it (as you can see in the photo).
Body 7.5mm long 2.5mm wide
Thanks

| | | Re: Bug, Beetle, and Fly for ID Morning Dave,
The first is a Tortoise Beetle from the Chrysomelidae family, sub-family Hispinae. Possibly a Cassida sp.
The second looks like a Pollen Beetle from the Nitidulidae family - do you have one the antennae?
The last is from the Muscidae family - do you have a side shot at all? It reminds me of Musca autumnalis or similar.
Take care, Jason

Take care, Jason | Unfortunately I don't, but it does look like and match the description of Musca autumnalis as you suggested. Thanks for your help.
Cheers
