Any idea on ID ? - thanks

| | | Re: Weevil ID Morning Brian,
I'd suggest it being an Acorn Weevil Curculio sp., but I'm not 100%. I had considered Sitona sp., but I don't think it's hairy enough and the eyes are positioned wrongly.
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | Thanks Jason.
Think it's proboscis is too short and fat to be an acorn weevil possibly ?
Maybe a hazelnut weevil looks more similar not there there are any near the garden

| | | Re: Weevil ID I have some poor pics of one which looks the same from last year (it was running). I named it Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus so I googled, found one of yours Brian! a small plump weevil #2 Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
There is another I had with a dark patch on the back, Cionus alauda I think but yours doesn't look to have the dark patch.
